QLD Business Energy Saving and Transformation Rebate

Your business could be eligible for a rebate on new, approved products.

Queensland Business Energy Saving and Transformation (QBEST) program targets 450K small and medium businesses in the state.

Under this program, small and medium sized businesses in Queensland can avail an appliance rebate up to 50% of the total cost (product+installation) of installing a new approved appliance.

This AU $16 million cashback scheme was announced by the state government in August 2023. The scheme is a part of $35 million QBEST program. The QBEST, in turn, is a part of a $62 billion Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.

The $35 million Queensland Business Energy Saving and Transformation (QBEST) program, part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, will support businesses to purchase energy-efficient appliances and equipment, smart technology and energy management systems to reduce their energy costs. The program is being delivered in stages over the next 3 years

REBATES AVAILABLE

To qualify for the rebate:

  • Your purchase must be made on or after October 5, 2023.
  • You should have paid in full and possess a receipt for the purchase or both the purchase and installation.
  • The items purchased should be at least one from the list on the left. There’s no limit to the number of items, as long as the total rebate doesn’t exceed $12,500.

Eligible businesses can receive rebates of up to $12,500 for the purchase (and installation, if required) of qualifying energy-efficient equipment. To qualify, businesses must spend a minimum of $8,000 (excluding GST) on both the purchase and installation. The rebate amounts to 50% of the eligible equipment’s purchase and installation costs (excluding GST).

Each eligible business is entitled to only one rebate. However, a rebate application can include multiple eligible energy-efficient equipment items, provided the total rebate amount remains below $12,500.

Applications will be processed based on the lodgement date, and each round will close once the allocated funding has been used.
